Hemeroids develop due to uncontrolled growth of varicose veins. A person having hemeroids suffers from physical discomforts like bleeding, anal itching, pain and even mental distress because of social embarrassment. Although hemeroids do not cause serious health problems, ignorance towards its existence can produce severe health complications.

Causes of hemeroids includes dietary irritants, mental stress, straining, sitting and standing for long hours, irregular and unhygienic bowel movement, obesity and even working in high temperature conditions.

The most common symptoms of hemeroids includes blood in the stool, a burning and itching sensation in the rectum, additional pressure required in passing stool, rectal pain and irritation.

Test/Diagnosis for Hemeroids: Most likely the doctor may just examine your rectum with a gloved finger or he may use a short, lighted scope to look inside the rectum to know if you have hemeroids.

Treatment For Hemeroids

Sunday, March 15, 2009

treatment for hemeroids picTreatments for hemeroids are mostly very effective. If your hemeroids still a problem after one to two weeks talk to your doctor for possible treatment for hemeroids.

For many, hemeroids are an enormous embarrassment. But they really needn't be. Hemeroids are among the most common of all health ailments, striking an estimated eight out of ten of us throughout our lifetimes. Even Napolean suffered hemeroids. It is said that the distracting pain of the emperor's hemeroids contributed to his crushing defeat at Waterloo. But hemeroids don't have to be your Waterloo. Much like varicose veins, these swollen veins in the anus are partially hereditary, but they can also be caused by—and be remedied by—such things as diet and toilet habits.

Hemeroids are lumps or masses of tissue in the anus, which contain enlarged blood vessels. Hemeroids may be inside the anal canal (internal hemeroids), where they primarily cause the symptom of intermittent bleeding, usually with bowel movements. They may also lie just outside the anal canal (external hemeroids), where they primarily cause symptoms of swelling and sometimes discomfort. Swelling and discomfort may occur intermittently, when the hemeroids become especially irritated.

Listed below are some of suggestions while your treating your hemeroids.
  • Strive for soft and easy bowel movements. The most effective strategy against hemeroids is to go right to the source of the problem. More often than not, on top of every rear end with hemeroids sits a person grunting and groaning. If it's news to you that passing one's stools is not supposed to be a long and arduous affair, you've likely got hemeroids. Huffing and puffing on the toilet provides just the kind of strain needed to engorge and swell the veins in your rectum. Hard stools then make matters worse by scraping the already troubled area. Solution? Drink lots of fluids, eat lots of fiber, and refer often to the following hemeroid remedies.
  • Oil your inner workings. Once you've increased the fiber and fluids in your diet, your stool should become softer and pass with less effort. You may help your bowels to move even more smoothly by lubricating your anus with a dab of petroleum jelly. Using a cotton swab or your finger, apply the jelly about 1/2 inch into the rectum thus avoiding your hemeroids for further irritation.
  • Clean yourself tenderly. Your responsibility to your hemeroids shouldn't end when you're through moving your bowels. It's extremely important to clean yourself properly and gently. Toilet paper can be scratchy, and some types contain chemical irritants. Purchase only nonperfumed, noncolored (white) toilet paper, and dampen it under the faucet before each wipe.
  • Elect a kinder, gentler toilet paper. If you've never heard of lubricated toilet paper, that's because it isn't sold yet. But you can find facial tissues coated with moisturizing cream—and these offer the most hemeroid-friendly backside wipe on the market.
  • Don't scratch. Hemeroids can itch, and scratching can make them feel better. But don't give in to the urge to scratch. "You can damage the walls of these delicate veins," and make matters much worse for yourself.
  • Don't lift heavy objects. Heavy lifting and strenuous exercise can act much like straining on the toilet. If you're prone to hemeroids, get a friend to help or hire someone to help you move heavy object thus avoiding too much pressure while lifting.
  • Go soak yourself. The sitz bath—sitting with your knees raised in 3 or 4 inches of warm water in a bathtub—is a remedy that still tops the list of most experts as a way to deal with hemeroids. The warm water helps to kill the pain while increasing the flow of blood to the area, which can help shrink the swollen veins.
  • Apply a hemeroid medication. There are many hemeroid creams and suppositories on the market, and while they generally will not make your problem disappear (contrary to what the ads may say), most are designed as local painkillers and can relieve some of the discomfort brought by your hemeroids.
  • Choose a cream. Choose a hemeroid cream over a suppository. Suppositories are "absolutely useless," for external hemeroids, and even for internal hemeroids, suppositories tend to float too far up the rectum to do much good. So prefer hemeroid cream as treatment for hemeroids for better result.
  • Work wonders with witch hazel. A dab of witch hazel applied to the rectum with a cotton ball is one of the very best treatment for hemeroids available for external hemeroids, especially if there's bleeding, "Barbers use witch hazel when they cut you—because it causes the blood vessels to shrink down and contract," so as to your hemeroids. While anything cold, even water, can help kill the pain of hemeroids, give your hemeroids a special treat by putting a bottle of witch hazel into a bucket of ice, just as you would a champagne bottle. Then take a cotton ball, soak it in the witch hazel and apply it against your hemeroids until it's no longer cold, then repeat such procedure.
  • Watch your weight. Because they have more pressure on the lower extremities, overweight people tend to have more problems with hemeroids just as they do with varicose veins so better watch your weight to avoid such formation of hemeroids.
  • Control your salt intake. Sure, you like your french fries covered with salt, but it can make your hemeroids worse. Excess salt retains fluids in the circulatory system that can cause bulging of the veins in the anus and elsewhere so try to control your salt intake while your on your process of treating your hemeroids.
  • Avoid certain foods and drinks. Some foods, while they won't make your hemeroids worse, can contribute to your anal misery by creating further itching as they pass through the bowels. Watch out for excessive coffee, strong spices, beer, and cola.
  • Pregnant? Take the pressure off. Pregnant women are particularly prone to hemeroids, in part because the uterus sits directly on the blood vessels that drain the hemeroidal veins. A special hemeroid remedy if you are pregnant is to lie on your left side for about 20 minutes every 4 to 6 hours, says Dr. Townsend. By doing so, you decrease pressure on the main vein draining the lower half of the body.
  • Give it a little shove. Sometimes the word hemeroid refers not to a swollen vein but to a downward displacement of the anal canal lining. If you have such a protruding hemeroid, try shoving it back into the anal canal. Hemeroids left hanging are prime candidates to develop into clots.
  • Sit on a doughnut. We're talking about a doughnut-shaped cushion, here. They are available in pharmacies and medical supply stores and can be useful to hemeroid sufferers who do a lot of sitting.
  • Try the ClenZone. This can also be use as one way of treatment for hemeroids. This little appliance attaches to your toilet seat and squirts a thin stream of water into your rectum after every bowel movement. It gets you superclean and serves as a soothing mini-sitz bath at the same time.
Although in many cases treatment for hemeroids involves steps that you can take on your own. But sometimes medications or surgical procedures are necessary. To illustrate more, cited below are some treatment for hemeroids you can choose if above hemeroid suggestion fail to give you relief. Also if a blood clot has formed within an external hemeroid, your doctor can easily remove the clot with a simple incision, which may provide prompt hemeroid relief. But for persistent bleeding or painful hemeroids, your doctor may recommend treatment for hemeroids as follows:
  • Banding hemeroids. Your doctor places one or two tiny rubber bands around the base of an internal hemeroid to cut off its circulation and the hemeroid falls off. This simple procedure — called rubber band ligation — is done in the doctor's office and is effective for many people as their treatment for hemeroids.
  • Sclerotherapy. A chemical solution is injected around the blood vessel to shrink the hemeroid.
  • Infrared light. A 1- or 2-second burst of infrared light can cut off circulation to small, bleeding, internal hemeroids.
  • Surgery. If other treatment for hemeroids haven't been successful or if you already have large hemeroids, your doctor can remove tissue in a procedure called hemeroidectomy. The surgery is done with either local anesthetic combined with sedation, a spinal anesthetic, or general anesthetic. It's usually done as an outpatient or overnight hospital stay. While you may experience discomfort after the hemeroid surgical procedure, medications can be used to relieve your pain. Soaking in a warm bath can also ease your discomfort. While some newer surgical techniques may decrease the amount of pain that some people experience.
So stop worrying, sit yourself down on a comfortable pillow, and try the above treatment for hemeroids suggestions which best suited for your condition.

Hemeroid Pain

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Hemeroid pain pic Hemeroid pain is one of the symptoms of having hemeroid. Hemeroids are simply a painful experience, though for some time hemeroiod pain can be ignored but other hemeroid condition is too painful to bear. Hemeroid surgery is then recommended to cut them away, but because of the incisions and stitches perform surgery to a highly sensitive area during hemeroid only few among who suffered from hemeroid chooses to be in such procedure.

So what is hemeroid then and why it bring to much pain in the affected area? Hemeroids are swollen, painful, itchy blood vessels in the lower rectum caused by increased blood pressure in rectal veins. As blood collects in the veins, the blood vessels swell, expanding in size until such vein can no longer hold its pressure thus resulting to the formation of hemeroids. This type of ailment is characterized by a number of symptoms, and the most troublesome of which is pain. In relation to this, hemeroid pain relief can be acquired through a change in the diet of a person and with the use of curative treatments. Pregnancy, obesity, constipation, diarrhea and long sitting spells can increase pressure. In most people however blood pressure rises because of constricted blood flow in the liver, where narrowed passageways bottleneck and raise pressure below.

Million of people suffer from this condition, so know that you are certainly not alone. Discuss the many treatment options with your doctor and find out how you can keep hemeroids in check.

So when it comes to the matter of how to deal with hemeroid flare-ups or what we called hemeroid pain, there are several basic options that you try. You can either choose to go with more conventional methods of hemeroid treatment, which would include prescription medications and medicines, or you can go the opposite route, and opt to use all natural or herbal products to treat your hemeroids.

But there is a good option to avoid hemeroid surgery though it is not very well known and recommended but it works great. Use beets and beet greens as a mayor part of your diet for as long as 30 days to detoxify the liver and relieve hemeroids. Beets are rich in folate, manganese and potassium, their fiber reduces constipation while the antioxidants help reduce inflammation in the liver and veins. Beets have a long history as a liver promoter and detoxifier the problem is that most of the time liver is not associated with hemeroids.

There are also many all natural methods of hemeroid treatment that can be used to lessen hemeroid pain, including fiber, which is something that you most likely already use anyway. Typically everyone’s existing diet has at least a bit of fiber in it, and it is fiber which helps the body to produce soft, regular bowel movements. And there are plenty of things that you can do in order to include more fiber in your diet, namely including more whole grains and vegetables into your day. Just remember that the more fiber you consume, the more water you will have to drink, because otherwise your constipation problem and the other symptoms may actually worsen and giving you so much hemeroid pain.

Start with breakfast and make sure that you have one packed with foods high in fiber. Some hemeroids suffers get themselves addicted to stool softeners because they are a quick fix. It would not be helpful for you to start down that road when you could be eating some healthy foods that have the same effect. Usually when people think of foods or cereals high in fibers they think about the fact that they may taste like tree bark or something horrible. However, you should take a trip down your local grocery store's cereal aisle and check the fiber content of some of them. You would be surprised how some of the better tasting foods can be high in fiber and help you heal your hemeroids and help lessen the hemeroid pain it brings.

As always it is important for you to keep up your water intake to keep you healthy. This is something else that will help your overall health and not just your hemeroid problem. And finally, there is exercise. If you find that you are basically living a sedentary lifestyle will little exercise you aren't expected to just sit up and start running marathons. Start small. Decide that 3 or 4 times per week you will take a 30 minute walk outside. You would be surprised how short of time it will take to have you feeling better. This will help you cure your hemeroids because your blood will be flowing better and you will get better circulation. Since hemeroids are just varicose veins they are caused by the poor circulation of blood in the rectal area. Anything that improves your blood circulation in general will improve your hemeroid problem as well.

Most hemeroids can be treated with simple steps and most do not require surgery or other treatment unless the hemeroids are very large and painful. Here are some of the home remedies and hemeroid treatment that doctors generally prescribe to help lessen the hemeroid pain you experienced:

  • 1. Sitting for long hours is not advisable. It is better to take breaks once in a while or walk for five minutes after every hour. If you must sit for a long time, sit on a pillow.
  • 2. Apply petroleum jelly to make bowel movement less painful
  • 3. Apply an over-the-counter 0.5 percent hydrocortisone cream to the skin. Do not scratch hemeroids because it will just make everything worse, causing the damaged veins and skin to become more irritated.
  • 4. Do not scrub the anal area excessively, especially with soap, because it can intensify the irritation of your hemeroid and giving you so much pain.
  • 5. Go to the toilet as soon as you feel the urge to do so. Waiting may cause constipation. Also, do not sit on the toilet for extended periods of time because can cause formation of hemeroids.
  • 7. Make it a point to lie down and take a rest as often as you can. When one is standing or sitting, the intestines and vertical organs are pushed down and apply pressure on your rectal area.
  • 8. Apply ice several times a day for 10 minutes at a time to your hemeroids. Follow this by placing a warm compress on the anal area for another 10 to 20 minutes.
  • 9. Apply moist heat (such as warm, damp towels) several times a day to your hemeroid will give you relief to
  • 10. Take a sitz bath. Fill your bathtub with just enough warm water to cover the anal area. Do this several times a day, especially after you have had a bowel movement. Soak for about 15 minutes at a time. Be careful! If the water is too warm, it could burn you.
  • 11. You may need a day or more of bed rest to take pressure off inflamed, irritated veins. If you are 3 to 6 months pregnant, you may find it helpful to lie on your side. If you are not pregnant, sleeping on your stomach with a pillow under your hips will help decrease swelling of hemeroids.
  • 12. Avoid lifting heavy objects.
  • 13. Wear cotton underwear to prevent moisture buildup, which can irritate hemeroids. Wear loose clothing to allow freedom of movement and to reduce pressure on the anal area.
  • 14. Do not use a ring ("doughnut") cushion. It will restrict blood flow and may make your symptoms worse
Moreover, the goal of nonsurgical procedures used to treat hemeroids, called fixative procedures, is to reduce the blood supply to the hemeroid so it shrinks or goes away. The scar tissue left in its place helps support the anal tissue and helps prevent more hemeroids from developing.

Fixative procedures are the most common conventional measures used to treat hemeroid pain, and these work by literally cutting off the blood flow to the hemeroids by using particular materials, such as lasers, heat, or rubber bands and chemical injection. These are:
  • Ligation - the rubber band treatment - works effectively on internal hemeroids that protrude with bowel movements. A small rubber band is placed over the hemeroid, cutting off its blood supply. The hemeroid and the band fall off in a few days and the wound usually heals in a week or two. This procedure sometimes produces mild discomfort and bleeding.
  • Injection can also be used on bleeding hemeroids that do not protrude. This method is relatively painless and cause the hemeroid to shrivel up.
  • Other treatments include cryotherapy, BICAP coagulation and direct current. Cryotherapy, popular 20 years ago, consists of freezing piles tissue. It is not recommended for hemeroids because it is very painful. BICAP and direct current are methods that shrink the hemeroid. None of these treatments have gained widespread acceptance.
Hemeroid surgery is also often used to treat this condition, although this is one of the most serious measures that can be taken and thus you will have to discuss it with your doctor first, and get approved to go ahead with the procedure. This is what we called Hemeroidectomy (surgery to remove the hemeroids) is the best method for the permanent removal of hemeroids. It is necessary when clots repeatedly form in external hemeroids; ligation fails to treat internal hemeroids; the protruding hemeroid cannot be reduced; or there is persistent bleeding. A hemeroidectomy removes excessive tissue that causes the bleeding and protrusion. It is done under anesthesia and usually require hospitalization. Laser hemeroidectomies do not offer any advantage over standard operative techniques. They are also quite expensive, and contrary to popular belief, are no less painful.

Take note that the process of treating hemeroid pain is certainly not a fun one, but as long as you take the issue seriously and get yourself treatment as soon as possible, then you should be able to relieve yourself of the condition promptly. If you try several methods of treatment and have no success, then you will have to discuss with your doctor more serious options.

Hemeroids Relief

Monday, March 9, 2009

hemeroids relief picHemeroids relief are aimed mainly to reduce the pain experienced by people who are affected by hemeroids. Although majority of hemeroid cases does not require any hemeroid treatment unless they become very painful and starts bleeding. Normally, consumption of any laxative or stool softeners may give hemeroids relief from the strained bowel movements. However severe and bleeding hemeroids requires intensive hemeroid treatments to avoid further discomfort and pain

When talking about how to deal with your hemeroid flareups, there are several basic options which can give you good hemeroid relief. You can either choose to go with more conventional methods of hemeroid treatment, which would include prescription medications and medicines, or you can go the opposite route, and opt to use all natural or herbal products for hemeroid relief.

Although most hemeroids heal on their own without high level hemeroid treatments, there are some things you can do to speed up the healing process and spare yourself from long hemeroid suffering. For chronic hemeroid sufferers, the following may help you reduce the symptoms of hemeroids and offers you hemeroid relief.

  • Apply hemeroid creams. There are various over-the-counter hemeroid creams containing witch hazel, hydrocortisone or other anti-inflammatory agents that can help reduce swelling and offers hemeroid relief to those who are badly suffering from hemeroids. Hemeroid cream usually contains active ingredients that go directly to the main problem thus providing immediate soothing hemeroids relief.
  • Moist wipes. Wiping with moist wipes or moist toilet pads can also reduce and prevent continued irritation of the rectal area thus gives hemeroids relief.
  • Applying petroleum jelly or aloe vera gel to the anal area also gives hemeroid relief
  • Sitz bath. Soaking in a tub of warm water regularly for about 10 minutes to 15 minutes can help reduce swelling and decrease pain and discomfort.
  • Apply Ice on it. Apply a cold compress or an icepack to the affected area can cause hemeroid tissue to numb thus can help reduce the swelling and offers you hemeroids relief.
  • Keep the anal area clean. Bathe or shower daily to cleanse the skin around your anus gently with warm water. Soap isn't necessary because it may aggravate the hemeroids problem. Gently drying the area with a hair dryer after bathing can minimize moisture, which can cause irritation
  • Zinc oxide lotion. Many people find kind of lotion such as that in diaper rash medicines, to be very relieving and offers effective hemeroids relief. They’ll help reduce the pain and swelling very quickly.
  • Aerosol treatments are also good with their numbing properties.
  • Take oral medications. You can use acetaminophen, aspirin or ibuprofen for temporary hemeroids relief.
  • You will also want to make sure you’re patting down the rectal area instead of wiping and rubbing it after going to the toilet. Unscented baby wipes are highly recommended because they are mild and easy on your skin.
There are also various local and alternative treatments to achieve better hemeroids relief which are available for either external and internal hemeroids. Examples are specific fiber rich diets, herbal ointments and preparations in addition to acupuncture and homoeopathic treatments for immediate hemeroids relief.

But failure to prevent hemeroids from getting worse or give any hemeroids relief will result in to a need for hemeroid surgery for most severe hemeroids cases. Although normally surgical intervention is made only if all other hemeroid treatments fail to give any relief for those who suffer because surgery causes severe pain, and new techniques are still being investigated for pain free removal. And any occurrence of bleeding may be a sign of something more serious and should be checked by physician as soon as possible for immediate hemeroid treatment.

Cited below are some of hemeroid surgery methods may be also used to remove or reduce the size of such hemeroids and giving you hemeroids relief. Common practitioners will apply hemeroids surgery and other form of hemeroid treatment in such worst cases. These hemeroid surgery includes:

• Hemeroidectomy. This kind of hemeroid surgery is commonly reserved for permanently prolapsed or protruding hemmmeroids, these are anal surgeries that are carried out under anesthesia and may require hospitalization after the process. When the hemeroid becomes too large and is already protruding out of the anus all the time, it might be a right time and necessarily be cut off through a hemeroids surgery process called hemeroidectomy. In some cases it might not mean actual cutting off of pieces of hemeroids tissue from the anal walls, but just merely dissecting the swollen hemeroid to remove clotted blood and puss so that the hemeroid can eventually "dry" up with the help of other medication such as ointments and suppositories. Internal hemeroids usually can be destroyed by injecting them with a chemical substance, this is necessary if internal hemeroids are prolapsed or very large.

• Coagulation. This kind of hemeroid surgery is considered best for hemeroids that are still in its smaller shape. It involves the process of burning of hemeriods with the help of electric current or infrared light to burn off or shrivel the hemeroid tissue. Continuous hemeroid treatment results in shrinkage and disappearance of hemeroids thus giving you relief.

• Rubber Band Ligation. Any qualified medical practitioner uses a rubber band to tie off the hemeroids at the root so that they wither off and die. By its very nature, this hemeroid surgery method of treatment cannot be applied in the early stages of the hemeroid since the hemeroids are still tiny. It is best suited for hemmreoids that are already hanging out of the anus, or those that are seen and felt as big lumps outside the anal opening. This procedure is based on the fact that hemeroid thrive on regular blood supply. Therefore, if the blood supply is cut off, by tying the vessels that carry blood to the lumpy hemeroids, then this shortage and absence of this blood supply will see to it that the hemeroid will "starve to death", but it takes a couple of weeks for the area to completely heal. This procedure is usually painful and may cause bleeding and because there are no nerve endings in the rectum, no anesthesia is necessary on this kind of hemeroid surgery however it still gives you hemeroids relief after such surgery.

• Sclerotherapy. In sclerotherapy, a chemical solution or substance are injected around the blood vessel to shrink and destroy the hemeroidal tissue thus giving you hemeroids relief.

All of these are basically recommended to give hemeroids relief for those who suffer greatly on hemeroids. All you need to do is to choose which option of hemeroids relief is best suited for your condition.

Hemeroid Cure

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

hemeroid cure picHemeroid cure was initiated due to pain contributed by all types of hemeroid. And this hemeroids had become very common diseases nowadays, at least you see symptoms of hemeroid in two out one. However you do not have to worry because lots of treatments today that are now available in the market and are allowed by the doctor as hemeroid cure. Also some of the fruits like banana, apple, and straw berry give better results to cure hemeroids. Herbs are very commonly used to cure hemeroids, herbs like green tea, calendula and so on.

The hemeroids mostly affect those people who have to work by sitting through out the day. So those people, in the break time they should walk and whenever they get the chance to go for a small walk it helps to cure hemeroids. Homemade remedies also give good effect as hemeroid cure. Drinking buttermilk after food helps to cool the body and it is best home remedies to cure hemeroids. Drinking white radish juice or applying paste of white radish in anus, coriander juice, cumin seeds paste reduce pain these are used as hemeroid cure.

And many products are available in the market nowadays that are used as hemeroid cure. However, surgery is done when there is sever pain; hemeroid is removed by surgery, and even though surgery is expensive, it helps to cure hemeroids completely. Some of the other treatments like laser therapy, cryotherapy are also used as hemeroid cure. In the laser therapy hemeroid is burned and in the cryotherapy hemeroids is frozen.

The prospect of suffering from hemeroids is one that nobody finds delightful. In fact, many people go to great lengths to ensure that they don't become one of the unlucky that have to deal with this debilitating ailment. However, statistics show that most Americans will at some point become hemeroid sufferers. Up to 85 per cent of all Americans, at some point in their lives, will suffer from hemeroids for a variety of reasons, whether it is a side-effect of illness, pregnancy or even because they simply form on their own. If you should find yourself as a sufferer, and want to cure hemeroids, you shouldn't fret as there are many viable hemeroid treatments that are guaranteed to alleviate any pain brought on by this physically debilitating condition.

The first and most common hemeroid cure for any hemeroid flare up is, of course, a sitz bath. What is a sitz bath? A sitz bath is where the hemeroid sufferer fills either a small pan or their bathtub with warm water. The water must always be warm as hot water may aggravate the already irritated skin around the hemeroid. After sitting in the water for between 15 and 20 minutes, letting the infected area soak in the water, get out of the water and gently dab the area dry with a warm cloth. Be sure to dab the area and not wipe, as wiping will only aggravate the areas. In the worst of cases, you could aggravate the area to the point where you draw blood.

Another method of hemeroid cure that is quick is through the use of medicated ointments and creams. Many hemeroid creams are readily available over the counter at your nearest pharmacy, though in rare cases you can have one prescribed by a physician. Many of these ointments have anesthetics in them to help quicken the soothing of the affected area. The drawback to this technique, however, is that many people complain of the mess that is associated with the application of the cream. Because of the nature of applying the cream, it is not always easy to find the infected areas, in addition to the mess of simply having the cream on your fingers. Another drawback to this method of treatment is in the fact that the actual application of the cream can be a painful, slow process.

A third option, one that many with hemeroids tend to avoid, is to undergo a surgical procedure to remove and cure hemeroids. More often than not, the procedure that people undergo is a simple process called rubber band ligation. The process is very simple. After having the hemeroid or hemeroids examined by a doctor, the physician will wrap a small rubber band around the swollen husk of skin. The rubber band then acts as a device that strangles the husk, cutting off air flow and eventually killing the hemeroid. The dead mass is then removed, along with the band, during normal bowel movements.
These are the most practical form of hemeroid cure as, and are proven to be surefire ways to combat this debilitating nuisance.

Hemeroids Cure With Natural remedies:

Whether you suffer from internal or external hemeroids natural treatment is simple. Increasing your intake of fiber will greatly reduce the potential for hemeroids to form, and can lessening the irritation of existing irritation. Constipation is a main cause of the formation of Hemeroids. Increasing water and fiber consumption, simultaneously, will decrease your likelihood of becoming constipated. Psyllium and flax seeds are both natural sources of fiber which are easy to add to any diet. Flax seeds can be sprinkled on salads or can be found in a variety of organic cereals. Psyllium is found in high-fiber breakfast cereal. Bioflavonoids are another plant-derived compound known for its anti-inflammatory characteristics and its ability to strengthen blood vessels. Ruscus aculeatus, or commonly know as box holly or sweet broom, is comprised of ruscogen. Ruscogen has properties which alleviate swelling and inflammation. Ruscus aculeatus can be found in several forms such as capsule, tea, ointment. It can also be applied to the affected area in the form of a compress. It has been noted that taking sweet broom is one of the best ways to stop external bleeding. Witch hazel is the one of the most common natural ingredients that can be found in a wide variety of over-the-counter hemeroid treatments and is formally know as Hamamelis virginiana. Witch hazel should never be ingested, but instead, should be applied in ointment, cream or compress form. Overtime and with consistent use over the course of treatment, the astringent qualities of witch hazel stop itching, pain, swelling and discharge. Nearly all hemeroid pads and wipes currently on the market contain witch hazel and provide the best direct external relief when used immediately after going to the bathroom. Chamomile, although a less commonly known treatment for hemeroids, has a standing tradition of anti-inflammatory qualities and works best when directly applied externally in oil, cream, or compress form. It is very important that you consult with a pharmacist or fully research any particular herbal supplement or at home remedy prior to treatment to avoid any adverse reactions due to any other related on non-related course of treatment or medical condition you may be experiencing.

Hemmorhoids Cure - Treatments to try at home:

The best course of treatment at home should include a combination of remedies. At the onset of external bleeding or pain, you should address the external and internal cause of the attack for the best and quickest cure. For starters, you should increase your intake of water and fiber. Along with this increase you should ingest a stool softener or herbal home remedy, such as box holly or sweet broom, to alleviate swelling and improve vascular circulation. Using pads or wipes that are medicated and contain witch hazel will provide the best and most immediate relief after a bowel movement. It is also recommended that you routinely apply cream or ointment through out the day to stop external bleeding, swelling, and discomfort.

Hemeroids Cure - Common causes of hemeroids:

It is speculated that there are number of triggers which can result in a painful hemeroid attack but it is not completely understood why Hemeroids enlarge or descend. Best known causes of hemeroids and external anal bleeding include pregnancy, poor fiber intake, prolonged sitting and straining on the toilet, dehydration and lack of physical exercise. Age is a large factor. The majority of people who experience hemeroid attacks are within the age of 45 to 65. It seems that over time the tissue and blood vessels which make up the hemeroid cushion of the anal cavity break down causing a sharp increase in the likelihood and potential of an attack.

Hemeroids Cure: Other treatments to consider:

When herbal remedies and homes treatments fail to cure or even alleviate external bleeding, pain, and swelling associated with a hemeroid attack it may be best to consider seeking more serious medical means of relief by consulting a physician. There several medical procedures such as surgery or prescription medicine that can cure your particular condition

From the suggestion mention above, you can try following hemeroid cure that best suited for your condition and to your hemeroid type.

Hemeroid Surgery

Monday, September 29, 2008

Hemeroid surgery is the surgical removal of hemeroids and excess tissue around the hemeroid. Hemeroid surgery is recommended in the treatment of extensive or severe hemeroids condition.

If a blood clot has formed within an external hemeroid, your doctor can easily remove the clot with a simple incision, which may provide prompt hemeroid relief. But if your hemeroids are persistently bleeding and condition becomes worse, it is advisable to seek for doctors advice if hemeroid surgery is necessary as your last defense. But for some patients, including those with certain forms of inflammatory bowel disease are not good candidates for hemeroid surgery. This is due to an increased risk of irritation and complications.

Hemeroid Surgery is usually recommended for hemeroids that become very enlarged, protrude from the anus, bleed frequently, or contain blood clots. Common procedures includes freezing the affected tissue, injecting chemicals into the hemeroid to shrink it, surgically removing the hemeroid, commonly referred to as hemeroid surgery. Hemeroid surgery comes in many varieties: the hemeroidectomy, hemeroid banding, laser coagulation, infrared photocoagulation, injection sclerotherapy and hemeroid stapling.

In hemeroid surgery, hemeroid tissue and excess tissue around the anal canal is surgically removed. The hemeroid surgery procedure is typically performed in a hospital or surgery center by a surgeon who specializes in colon and rectum surgeries. Hemeroid surgery usually requires an overnight stay in the hospital but may also be performed on an out patient basis. The procedure of hemeroid surgery is performed under anesthesia and with the help of a device called an anoscope where your hemeroid can be viewed. During your hemeroid surgery, the blood supply to the hemeroid is tied off and the hemeroid is removed, along with some surrounding tissue, if necessary.

After your hemeroid surgery, the rectal area is closely monitored for any bleeding. Laxatives are also used to ease defecation. Fluid intake is also monitored. Any increased rectal bleeding, pus drainage, fever, constipation or rectal spasms need to be reported to a physician. And it is important to prevent constipation following hemeroid surgery. Therefore, it is advised to have healthy habits after your hemeroid surgery . Eat foods that have lots of fiber, such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Also, drink plenty of water, and get some exercise on most days of the week.

But the main disadvantage of hemeroid surgery is that healing and recovery can take a considerably longer time for about two to three weeks. The other disadvantage of this hemeroid surgery, though rare, is that it could lead to profuse bleeding and scarring if administered poorly. That could in turn lead to other complications. You may also experience discomfort after the hemeroid surgery procedure, therefore medications can be used to relieve your pain. The patient may also experience considerable pain after hemeroid surgery as the anus tightens and relaxes. Medications to relieve pain may be used. To avoid straining, stool softeners will be used. Soaking in a warm bath also can ease your discomfort and give your hemeroid relief.

Though hemeorid surgery is highly effective treatment for hemeroids, it does pose potential risks. There are also side effects to certain hemeroid surgery that you should be aware of. Urinary retention, urinary tract infections, fecal impaction and bleeding are the most common complications of the hemeroid surgery procedure. In addition, patients might have some trouble urinating because the pain following surgery makes it difficult to relax and allow urine to flow. Further, the anal sphincter might be damaged during surgery, which can lead to pain and/or fecal incontinence. Fecal incontinence is the inability to control your bowels, which can lead to the involuntary release of feces or gas.

Hemeroid surgery should be the last line of defense against your severe hemeroid. Although, most hemeroids can be treated and cured with more conservative hemeroid treatment, but for others who’s hemeroid does not respond to basic home treatments, then hemeroid surgery is usually recommended.

Hemeroid Cream

HEMEROID CREAM is one of the basic remedies that can help relieve the pain and swelling suffered by people with hemeroids. Hemeroid is an abnormality or disease that develops over time due to uncontrolled growth of varicose veins in the large intestine and rectum area. People at the peak age of 45-60 are more prone to be affected by hemeroids. Once you get hemeroids, asides the shame it brought- pain and discomfort will be your main problem. Fortunately, for most people, hemeroid "flare-ups" heal on their own within a couple of days and often clear up by themselves with minimal treatment such as applying hemeroid creams.

You can usually find over the counter hemeroid cream even without doctors prescription. You can buy hemeroid creams intended to stop the itching and offers some hemeroid relief. This hemeroid cream are usually based on hydrocortisone which work well against itching but should be used for a limited time only to avoid skin irritation. However, try to avoid anti-itching hemeroid cream or lotions with an ingredient that has "-caine" in its name. These products have a local anesthetic in them and, if used too often, can cause further irritation.

But you have to be very careful on applying hemeroid cream because our body easily absorbs creams the most and the fastest via the anus. Therefore, it is important that you first apply hemeroid cream which is a weaker type. However if the hemeroid cream used didn't offerr relief after a period of three days then you can work your way up to a stronger type of hemeroid cream, and again after three days if still does not work.

Another problem with stronger type of hemeroid cream is that it can ruin your skin around the anus causing skin eczema and may bring other more serious complications. This problem is usually caused by overdosing on with hemeroid cream by using the hemeroid cream for more than seven days. Our anal area prefers to be dry to avoid irritation and because it is a very sensitive area, it can develop allergies to some preparations especially if done with dirty hands or untrimmed nails.

In addition to hemeroid cream medications, certain lifestyle measures can help you feel better and even prevent the recurrence of your hemeroids by taking warm baths regularly, regular exercise, adding fibrous food in your diet, and increasing the intake of water atleast 6-8 glasses a day and cleaning your rectal area with the use moisten pads or toilet tissue.

And if your hemeroids does not respond to hemeroid creams and other hemeroid home remedies and reatment, doctors may recommend rubber band litigation, sclerotherapy, surgery, and stapling for cases wherein the hemeroids are too painful to bear or are persistently swelling and worst, bleeding.

What Are Hemeroids?

what are HEMEROIDS picWhat are Hemeroids really about? Hemeroids are a very common condition especially for aged people. It has been estimated that approximately 5% of total population is suffering from hemeroids. If left without hemeroid treatment, the condition of the rectal cavity and its functions may worsen. Hemeroids refer to a condition in which the veins and tissues around the lower rectum and anus become swollen and inflamed. These hemeroids usually become enlarged and dilated, then comes internal hemeroids or external hemeroids. Often hemeroids are itchy, can cause pain, and if bleeds, it becomes very painful. This is due to the increase pressure on the walls of the rectum, thus the muscles that support the hemeroids vessels are weakened and losses its support - the reason why bleeding hemeroids occurs.

What are hemeroids types? The type of hemeroids usually depends on where it develops.

    • Internal hemeroids involve the veins inside your rectum. Internal hemeroids usually don't hurt and they may bleed painlessly.
    • External hemeroids involve the veins outside the anus. External hemeroids can be itchy or painful and can sometimes burst and bleed.

What are hemeroids causes? Hemeroids can develop from any increase in pressure in the veins in the lower rectum. Most common sources of pressure and causes of hemeroids includes:

-Constipation and straining during bowel movement.
-Diarrhea and the continuous expulsion of loose stools.
-Long period of sitting or standing, especially sitting on the toilet
    -Obesity
    -Pregnancy and childbirth

What are hemeroids symptoms? Most common hemeroids symptoms are:

-Anal itching and anal tissue protruding especially during bowel movement.
-Anal ache or pain, especially while sitting
-Bright red blood on toilet tissue, stool, or in the toilet bowl
-Pain and inflammation of the anus during bowel movements
-One or more swollen and hard tender veins and lumps inside and around the anus.

What are hemeroids preventive measures? To help your hemeroids from coming back after your hemeroid treatment or really to prevent from having hemeroids, you have to practice the following:

Internal hemeroids is barely noticeable and cannot be felt because everything taks place inside, internally. And that is basically the reason that internal hemeroid doesn’t hurt that much because they have not come into contact with air and outside pressure unlike external hemeroids. But straining or irritation from passing stool can injure a hemeroid's delicate surface and cause it to bleed, and thats the time internal hemeroid becomes painful.

Internal hemeroids basically develop inside the lower rectum. Often it can’t be seen or felt, and internal hemeroids are typically painless. However, internal hemeroids can itch, cause a pressure sensation, and make it difficult to clean the anal area. Painless bleeding and protrusion during bowel movements are the most common symptom of internal hemeroids. Usually you will notice small amounts of bright, streaking red blood on your toilet paper or on the toilet bowl or a feeling of fullness following a bowel movement. You may not feel pain with the internal hemeroid but you can identify through blood occurrence after having normal bowel movement. This is because the lining in the walls of the rectum becomes engorge with too much blood and bulge up to the point that it can no longer hold the pressure that’s why it bleeds. And because internal anal membranes of internal hemeroids lack pain-sensitive nerve fibers, these hemeroids usually don't cause discomfort.

Other symptoms of internal hemeroids may include:

    • Itching - a frequent complaint, because internal hemeroids often seep mucus that causes itching.
    • Skin irritation - large hemeroids that bulge from the anus may cause irritation
    • Discomfort - you often have the feeling of urge even after your bowel movement. This uncomfortable feeling is caused by the bulging of the internal hemeroid in the end portion of the large intestine. In general, the larger the hemorrhoid, the greater the discomfort.
Although large internal hemeriod that bulge from the anus may become painful if they swell and are squeezed by the muscles that control the anus. Severe pain may be a sign that the blood supply to the hemoriod is being cut off thus hemeriod treatment is needed if pain persist.

Internal hemeroids can also be assessed and be treated according to:

o First-degree internal hemerioids do not bulge from the anus.
o Second-degree internal hemeroids bulge from the anus during bowel movements but go back into the anus afterward on their own.
o Third-degree internal hemeroids bulge from the anus during bowel movements, but they can be pushed back into the anus.
o Fourth-degree internal hemeriods may bulge outside the anus all the time.
If you are suffering from internal hemeroids, or want to avoid reoccurrence of internal hemeroid, it is advisable to follow healthy dietary tips.

o Eat high-fiber foods. Eat more fruits, vegetables and grains. By doing this it softens the stool and increases its bulk, which will helps lessen the straining that can cause internal hemeroids
o Drink plenty of liquids. At least a minimum 6 -8 glasses a day also helps in preventing constipation thus lowers the risks of having internal hemeroids.
o Consider fiber supplements. You can ask advise from your doctor for any stool softeners. This can give you relief from internal hemeroids or getting the possibility of having hemeroids.
o Change bowel habits. Respond to the urge to defecate and stay relaxed to avoid straining which can cause bleeding of your internal hemeroid.
o The best way to prevent internal hemeroids is to keep stools soft so they pass easily, thus decreasing pressure and straining, and to empty bowels as soon as possible after the urge occurs.
Treatment for internal hemeroids include laser coagulation, injection sclerotherapy, rubber band ligation, infrared photocoagulation, and the hemorrhoidectomy. In severe cases of internal hemeroid, physicians usually suggests the sufferer to undergo hemeroid surgery. However if home remedies are observed and practice daily it can make the need for hemeroid surgery unnecessary. But if discomfort and pain still persist and blood occurrence in your stool is still noticeable, it is highly advice to consult your physician and get it investigated because sometimes bleeding may not be due to internal hemeroids but to other serious internal illness.
